Build Your Dream 100 List to Supercharge the Growth of Your Business

In online marketing, the Dream 100 is a program that you follow to help you infiltrate into the influencers and groups of people where your dream customers are congregating. Created by Chet Holmes and made famous by Russell Brunson (founder of Clickfunnels), this simple process will help you supercharge your marketing and keep you focused on what is essential.

I am creating my Dream 100 for myself to help promote my new consulting and marketing business, JeremyYoung.com, and I want to share some of my ideas and thoughts that could help you create yours as well.

The first thing you need to do - Identify Your Customer:

Start a quick brainstorming session about who your Dream Customer is and where they hang out and congregate in groups.

Russell Brunson says that a dream customer will fit into one of these core markets: wealth, health, or relationships.

Once you determine what core market your dream customer belongs to, you can then identify a sub-market. Examples include:

Health —> Weight Loss, Strength Training, Nutrition

Wealth —> Investing, Real Estate, Finance

Relationships —> Dating Advice, Marriage Advice, Love

Once a sub-market is identified, go deeper and find a niche:

Health —> Weight Loss —> Personalized Meal Planning

Wealth —> Finance —> Paying Off Debt

Relationships —> Love —> Going Through Divorce

Now that you have identified a niche, what pain is that niche experiencing and what are you going to offer to solve that pain? This becomes your Dream Customer and your Product.

Once you have finished with this exercise, ask yourself these questions:

  • What is their biggest fear?
  • What is their biggest desire?
  • What do they love more than anything?
  • How much money do they make?
  • What are their primary points of frustration?

After you have done everything above, you are on your way to starting to find your Dream Customers and creating an advertising and marketing campaign to target them.

How to Apply the Dream 100 to Your Business

Public Relations:

To increase brand awareness and credibility, consider trying to get published in top media outlets. One way to do this is to identify the 100 most influential writers and editors at those outlets via social network analysis, then create a list of prospective contacts. Reach out to them directly through email or phone calls, or try to find common ground through shared interests. If you can’t get your foot in the door with the publications themselves, then consider running ads or buying sponsorships instead.

Influencer Marketing:

Make a list of your target market’s favorite influencers and reach out to them by commenting on their social media posts or emailing them to see if they would be willing to work with you. If you can't connect with these influencers organically, consider reaching out to them through paid advertisements.

Social Media:

Social media is one of the best platforms for applying the Dream 100 strategy. You can find groups, forums, and influencers where your target market congregates and then work your way into those communities with organic engagement or buy your way in through paid ads.3

Search Engine Optimization:

Identify the top 100 keyword phrases that your target market is already searching for in Google and make it your mission to rank on the first page for those keywords. Optimized content on your blog or ads via Google will help you achieve this.

Affiliates:

Influencer marketing allows you to harness the power of social media, content creation and word-of-mouth advertising by identifying key figures in your market and commissioning them to promote products on their platforms.

Guest Blogging / Guest Posts:

When you want to promote your products and services by guest posting on other publications in your market, begin by creating a list of the top 100 publications you’d like to write for. Then, craft some pitches and submit them. If that doesn’t work, consider paying for an advertisement.

Podcasts / Newsletters:

Getting mentioned in podcasts and newsletters can greatly increase brand awareness. The Dream 100 is a strategy for systematically getting yourself featured in these types of media. Start by making a list of the top 100 podcasts or newsletters that you want to get featured in and contact them about being interviewed as an expert or sponsoring their show.

What next?

Create a spreadsheet where you are going to locate where your Dream Customers congregate - this will become your Dream 100 list. Below you will find a good roadmap of how many different groups you will want to engage in. Once you find a group where your Dream Customer hangs out, put it into the spreadsheet in the proper section.

Recommended:

  • 8 websites and forums
  • 16 active Facebook groups
  • 50 influencers on Facebook & Instagram
  • 25 podcasts
  • 30 email newsletters
  • 15 blogs
  • 15 YouTube Channels

Gaining Credibility and Traction with Your Dream 100:

Now that you have identified your Dream Customer, and you created your Dream 100 list, go and become a presence for good in those pages, groups, blogs, and social media channels. Interact with your Dream 100 every single day. Post relevant and useful content. But DO NOT try to sell to them. Not only is it probably not allowed, but you will also lose your credibility.

After you have established credibility over some time, can you then reach out to the person on your Dream 100 list to propose an ask.

In a future blog post, I will explain more tips, tricks, and tactics to infiltrate your Dream 100, how to build credibility with your audience, and if all else fails, how to buy your way into influence so you can start building your own lists and bringing customers through your sales funnel.
